My Story

What does Media Industry meaning to me

From a young age, I was exposed to the fascinating world of visual media, and it wasn’t long before I realized that I wanted to pursue a career in the Film and TV industry. To me, they contain an element of magic - the ability to transport us to another time and place by visual creation, and, to bring out emotions and alter perceptions to viewers, more importantly, this watching experience gave us the chance we can live more than once.

During my time at University, I was constantly grasping for opportunities to transpose my ideas and stories into practice and to the visual, I looking for the chance to expand my horizons and develop my skillset. And now, I am ready to embrace the industry.

Storyboard of Sam

Before the actual shooting, I got all those scenes have visualized in my head what I needed to do is place them into the real set, although I realized the prepared storyboard doesn't fit with every shot that the locations I went to, the beforehand preparation is good for me to visualize the script and connect with the post-production part.

Photography has a unique fascination for me. I often start from a scene in a street corner and extend the story behind it, capturing the scene in the back of the frame. I like to shoot black and white images, in which people and objects coincidentally form a strong contrast of light and shadow, without consciously creating a sharp dramatic tension, giving a story to a still photograph, and my inspiration and imagination for the story often starts from this one scene or one photograph.
